The Cult of Orcus
As a child, Jurich had a decent upbringing; good parents, health, mild prosperity. His father was a doctor in a large town and did well providing for his mother and only child. He and his mother were students of their patron and helped with providing for their patients. growing up, jurich had a good sense of right and wrong, his parents never needed punish him, only instruct him in what was good. A stubborn lad, Jurich always stood his ground on what he believed was right, he always considered carefully and would change his mind if ample evidence was provided, but until then he would never sway. Jurich would become angry whenever he felt something was wrong or injustice was committed. p. In Jurich’s teen years he became passionate about the path of healing, but unlike his father who had sworn off religion and magic of all types, jurich felt there were better, more powerful ways to help the sick and injured. He soon became frustrated with his fathers ways and would challenge him daily, but as his father always said; “mortals are mortal for a reason”. Jurich hated this attitude and felt that intervening on the forces of evil by healing people was inherently a good thing. p. Soon Jurich found himself learning about Bahamut and his laws. he felt a strong connection with Bahamut and meditated on it daily. For Jurich it soon felt as though his actions were guided by Bahamut’s divine justice. Secretly he would practice divine healing prayers while attending to patients his father was too busy for. One day Jurich’s childhood friend came to his family’s clinic with grave wounds. In the hustle of stitching and nursing Jurich muttered a powerful prayer he had been meditating on right in front of both his parents. His friend’s wounds miraculously healed but Jurich’s father instantly knew what had happened. He banished his son from his household and Jurich was left to fend for himself in the world. p. Jurich made his way to the nearest temple of Bahamut where he was trained in the ways of Bahamut’s warriors of justice. He now roams the world in search of injustice to fight against, weak to protect, and righteous warriors to heal.
